My name is Justin Wright, and I attend Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a student – athlete with a 4.0 weighted GPA and a member of the National Honor Society. I am a hard-working person who gives his all in whatever I do. I plan on becoming a contract lawyer for athletes. My favorite quote was said by Eric Thomas, “ When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.” I live by this quote because in order to be great, you have to be willing to go as hard as your last breathe will take you.
On weekends, I attend the Leadership Academy held at Nova Southeastern University, which is run by the 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale mentors. They teach their four pillars, Education, Health and Wellness, Economic Development, and Mentoring. This program helps me become a leader and teaches me how to represent myself as a young man. To put what I learn into action, during the summer, I volunteer my time at the local Boys and Girls Club. I help the kids enhance their athletic skills as well as their overall behavior.
On the athletic side, I play football, basketball, and run track. My goal is to attend college on a full scholarship. Hopefully, I will be blessed to play in the NFL. Playing sports really taught me how to interact with people, how to compete, and how to be a team player and not a “me player”. Our team’s motto is “You Go We Go” because you can only go as far as your team goes as a unit.
